Question 1
Are you allowed to pack makeup, eyelash curlers, tweezers, etc in luggage when traveling by airplane?
Additional Details
what about toothpaste?
I wouldn’t be carrying them with me. These items would be packed in my checked luggage. Do they have size limites for items in checked luggage?
Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
You can put all of them in your checked baggage.
For your carry on, if the makeup is liquid it needs to be 3 oz. or less and put in the one-quart ziplock bag. Same with the toothpaste.
Question 2
Does anyone know who invented the beauty instruments, tweezers, eyelash curler, toenail clippers & nail clippers?
Best Answer – Chosen by Voters
Tweezers History:
Tweezers are known to have been used in predynastic Egypt. There are drawings of Egyptian craftsmen holding hot pots over ovens with a double-bow shaped tool. Asiatic tweezers, consisting of two strips of metal brazed together were common to Mesopotamia and India about 3000 B.C. These likely served purposes such as catching lice.[1] There is evidence of Roman shipbuilders pulling nails out of construction with plier-type pincers.
Eyelash curler: William Beldue and his Kurlash Company held patents in Canada, the United States and Great Britain for the eyelash curler and improvements to it.
Nail clippers: The invention of nail clippers has been attributed to Chapel Carter in 1896. Before then, nail scissors and nail files were used.

Question 4
What to do if you accidentally poke yourself in the eye with tweezers?
Ya hi, i wuz trying to get rid of this really long eyelash i had (seems gay but i don’t care, it wuz annoying) anyways wen i wuz doing this i accidentally poked myself in the eye with my tweezers. this happened a couple of hours ago and it still hurts. i’ve tried putting water on it and like ice and cold/cool things (wet rags, wet paper towels) but it hasn’t really gotten better. can anyone help me out?
Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
You have probably scratched your cornea (corneal abrasion). Corneal abrasions usually heal within 3 days. To help your eye heal and relieve discomfort, keep the eye closed. Cover your eye with a medical eye pad and secure with surgical tape (apply just enough pressure to keep the eye closed). The eye pad will also protect your eye from light. See a doctor if there is no improvement after a day.
I hope this helps and good luck.

Question 5
How long does it take for lower eyelash hairs to fall out?
I have a lower eyelash hair that keeps getting in the way of my vision, except i cannot see it when i look into the mirror to try to remove it with tweezers. Thanks.
Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
Yikes, you might not want to pluck it… Not only can it damage the cuticle underneath, but it can hurt really bad!
The average lifespan of eyelashes can go anywhere from a couple of weeks to about 3 months. I had the same problem myself, but I just used an eyelash curler to curl it the other way.
Question 6
What’s the best way to remove eyelash glue?
Whenever I take off my falsies, I have bits of glue that are stuck inbetween my lashes. I use Sephora waterproof eye makeup remover, but that doesn’t get rid of everything. I’ll have to end up using my nails/tweezers to carefully pull them off but this is very time consuming, and sometimes I’ll pull an eyelash off with the glue. Any suggestions?

ive heard olive oil does the trick
Question 7
Do fake eyelashes get glued onto the eyelid or the eyelashes?
Do fake eyelashes get glued onto the skin of your eyelashes or on your real eyelashes? I’ve never used them before. Also, how do you remove individual eyelashes? Tweezers? Do they last all night? Thanks!
Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
On the lid, but u want to get as close to the lash line as possible so they look more natural….if u get glue them on ur lashes it will hurt taking them off unless ur soak the lashes with a good makeup remover, then they will just slide off….
if ur using individual lashes then put those inbetween/on ur lashes and use a eyelash remover to take them off…
Question 8
Can I bring these items through airport security?
I am going to New York City next week and was wondering if these items are ok to go through airport security.
-Gum
-Snacks (Like a little bag of pretzels or something)
-Chapstick (And does it have to be inside of the quart-size bag)
-Tweezers, eyelash curlers, nail clippers, nail file, eyeliner sharpener
Also, Can I bring my carry-on, a purse as my personal item and a netbook inside the carry-on? Thank you!
Best Answer – Chosen by Voters
Yes to all of them. The chapstick doesn’t have to be in the 1-qt bag as long as it is a solid chapstick, rather than a gel or a chapstick in a little pot. The TSA makes the same kind of distinction between solid lipstick (doesn’t have to be in the bag) and lip gloss (does have to be in the bag), and between gel deodorant (has to be in the bag) and solid stick deodorant (doesn’t have to be the bag). The airline doesn’t care if you have a netbook in the carry-on. They don’t care what you have in your bags (as long as it isn’t forbidden by the TSA). They only care if your bags are too big or if you have too many (check your airline’s website for their baggage policy).
Question 9
Am I supposed to remove my eyelash?
I have an eyelash growing towards my eye. I don’t think it’s an ingrown eyelash. It just grew at a bad angle and stabs my eye. Am I suppose to use a tweezer to pull it out?
Also, I cut it so it wouldn’t hurt my eye, but it stabs my eye even more.

I mean what else are tweezers made for? lol
· Answerer 5
No, you are not supposed to use tweezers to pull out an eyelash. I also believe you made a poor choice by cutting the eyelash. I suggest you consult your primary care physician or make an appointment with one who specializes in eye care. You may develop a nasty eye infection.
· Answerer 6
Yes you can use tweezers to pull it out but make sure to pull it out in the direction the lash is growing, not against it. Also, remeber that sport is now an open pore, do not put any makeup on or near that spot for a few days because this could cause the already irritated hair follicle to get an infection.
· Answerer 7
Yeah.
Just pluck it out.
Question 10
Not checking a bag on US Airways can I bring my shaving razor in the carry on?
And what about things like my straightening iron? Tweezers? Metal Eyelash curler?
Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
Yes on the shaving razor… I’m assuming you’re talking about the regular disposable kind. Don’t bring extra blades.
Yes on the straightening iron.
I’m pretty sure the tweezers are a no. Probably depends on their size and how sharp they are.
I think the eyelash curler would be fine.
If you’re worried or really need these things, check the tsa website, they have a list.
