Should i wear false lashes for my senior yearbook picture?

Question 1

Should i wear false lashes for my senior yearbook picture?

I’m asian and I do have small eyes. When I wear false lashes they do make my eyes bigger but i’m wondering if it’s too dramatic for senior pictures.

Additional Details

Most of my asian friends did wear false lashes and she looked beautiful and they looked natural. She has no lashes at all, even when you curl them. I’m thinking about wearing ardell demi 101 but maybe that’s too much..

Fake Lashes would be okay for Prom, but for your Senior Picture, I think it’s too much.

Lol ~ I feel your pain, I’ve got one single eyelid and one double eyelid which is a real pain sometimes.
I’ll assume that you need help with your eye makeup because you have single eyelids.

1) Skip the eyeshadow, it’s a lot harder to do all the fancy blending techniques on a flat, creaseless lid. Opt instead for a cream eyeshadow for everyday use, and just use one neutral colour on the entire lid.

2) I suggest using a volumizing mascara over a lengthening one, since Asian lashes are quite thin. Maybelline has one called “Volum’ Express Turbo Boost” that is fantastic (after trying TONS of other brands, I went back to this one), or if you want lengthening and volume, “Intense XXL” is a good one, it has a fibre loaded base coat on one end to boost your lashes before applying the coloured black coat.

3) I found that the trick to applying mascara is to hold a small mirror below your chin (so it’s 45 degrees from your body, instead of holding it parallel to your face), then look DOWN into the mirror, that give you a better view of your eyelashes becuz if you look up and apply mascara you are for sure going to apply it to your eyelid.

4) Be sure to start applying mascara from the very roots of your eyelashes…and dont worry if you accidently get some on your eyelid, just use a cotton swab + some makeup remover and just take it off your eyelids when your done. No big deal.

5) If you really like eyeliner, it’s best to apply it only to the outter 3/4 of your eyelid instead of your whole eyelid, it just looks better for Asian eyes, doing the whole eye looks fake.

6) This is my favourite trick, use a white/shimmery eyepencil and apply it to the inner corners of your eye and also along the inner rim of your lower eyelid. makes eyes look sparkly and super cute.

Question 3

What do you think of asians who try to make their eyes bigger with circle lenses?

I’m asian myself..but I’m just asking this question out of curiosity. I think that people should love the way they look naturally..not with full on makeup and circle lenses. I understand that sometimes it is for the culture of asia (ulzzangs and stuff), but to be wearing false lashes and circle lens every single day…I think it makes a person look very insecure about themselves. What is your view on this?

White eyeliner for african americans?

My eyes are really small. Some of my friends think i’m high or i’m just asian and I wear black rimmed GLASSES! I heard that white eyeliner is suppose to make your eyes bigger. I bought some and i don’t see a difference. And it looks really noticable. I also have short eyelashes and my eyes are a dark brown but they look kinda black. How can i make my eyes bigger without false lashes? What kind of color would complement my eyes? Would silver be good? My skin tone is about a bronze brown and i have a fat/round face. I hate to say it but i have acne scars mostly around my cheeks. I’m also a novice at make up. I have mascara, an eyelash curler and some eyeshadow, and a brush set for eyes. Please help!

Additional Details

my eyelashes are kinda wild. even if i curl them some of them still poke. They also clump together even if i put on mascara

I think if you put a thin line of a dull gray & dab darker colors of eye shadow by going up the eye, you’re eyes will look fuller, & the eyeliner will complement it so well. Also, you should make the eyeliner thicker as you go along the eye. Put a longer line after you’ve finished the eye. As for the acne scars, you can find a little foundation, or foundation blush that you can cover them up with. Hope this helped (:

never heard of that… butim african american and use all black eveyrything, except for occasional blue eyeliner… idk about white tho… sorry, goodluck.

Acne Scars:Use a Foundation that is oil free and is YOUR skin color.Use a makeup sponge to apply.Lock in with a powder that is YOUR color with a “blush” brush.(dust it all over face evenly)
Lips:Use a chapstick that makes your lips nice and smooth, then use a very shiny ROLL ON lipgloss. It will stand out.
Eyes:Use LashBlast black mascara on the top and bottem….to not make it caky.Apply a eyeshadow with a thin eye brush. Add evenly.COLORS:Blue,Green,(Alittle Dark)Silver.

For your hair, straighten it with a flat iron after washing, conditioning then rinsing, brushing, blowdring, then flat ironing and use a mild hair spray. AVOID:GELS AND OTHER PRODUCTS THAT ARE STICKY!This will make the illusion that your face is smaller and thiner.

You are very pretty I bet…get some confidence! Thats key.

The thing with white eyeliner is that it can end up looking really severe because it’s so bright, so you can try using an off-white or even a beige color. You can try Stila’s Kajal Eye Liner in Topaz or Benefit’s Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Tattle Tale. My biggest trick to making my eyes look bigger is lining my upper eyelid slightly beyond my eye. Good luck!

Hi, I do lots of wedding and prom hair. If your dress has detail in the back that you want to show off then wear your hair up. Asian hair in general is straight and dark and usually in great condition. Dark hair does not reflect light as much as lighter hair, because of this I say don’t bother curling your hair or adding intricate detail as it won’t be noticed as much. Wear it up or down according to your dress, and sleek and simple. Eyeshadow can be done with your natural basic colors while adding a smudged line under and over your lashes in your dress color. Make sure you do a trial run on the false eyelashes to ensure comfort. Some people have trouble wearing them and you wouldn’t want to find this out on a special night. What ever you decide be confident in your decision and have a wonderful night!
