Is it safe to dye your eyelashes?

Question 1

Is it safe to dye your eyelashes?

  • I have very, very blond eyelashes and eyebrows. I have considered getting my eyelashes dyed black. I’ve been told that it’s safe and that it lasts about two to three months.

Is it safe? Has anyone out there had any complications with getting their eyelashes dyed? Will I need to get my eyelashes dyed more frequently to prevent my blonde roots from showing through? How can I tell if the makeup artist is skilled and experienced at eyelash dying?

It is technically called an eyelash/eyebrow TINT and is performed by an esthetician, with a state license. I have mine done by my sister who is an esthecian that waxes my eyebrows.

I would ask your friends for referrals. Or if you get your eyebrows waxed somewhere, ask them. In any case, the process is totally safe. I would book the appointment at a repuitable salon and have no worries!

This is absolutely crazy that people claim this is so dangerous! If it were dangerous, no salon would offer it!!

Question 2

Can you dye your eyelashes professionally?

I kno someone who has blonde eyelashes and eyebrows. Is there anyway anywhere where she can get her eyelashes dyed? Would she be at risk to be blind also? About how much would it cost?

Question 4

Is it a good idea to dye your eyelashes?

Well obviously it’s probably not the best idea, but has any one done it? And if so, what were the results like?
I’m quite blonde and without mascara my eyes look very very bald, I generally try and stick to brown mascara though so it doesn’t look like I’ve got black eyes.
I’m going on holiday in October and there’s going to be swimming there, but I dislike using waterproof mascara because it makes your eyelashes quite brittle, so I was just curious to see how eyelash dying turns out.

i am an esthetician and dying your brows/lashes is a great idea. it may sting for a moment when they are taking the dye off, but thats normal (like putting a contact lense in). the dye comes in a variety of color though black is popular, and lasts for 4-6 weeks.

Question 5

I’m a redhead and for halloween my friends and I want to make me brunette. Any ideas on how to make this work?

More or less, this includes doing something with my hair (wig? 1 day hair dye), eyelashes, eyebrows, and finding someway to cover up my freckles.
This is just a Halloween thing so if your answer is anything along the lines of “be proud of your red hair,” or “don’t change yourself,” just don’t say anything. And if I you feel the urge to say anything like “damn gingers,” please choose to play in traffic instead.

i would use tempory hair dye- it would look the most relistic- the kind where it washes out after a few shampoos :)

Question 6

Eyelashes?

Is it possible to dye your eyelashes? If so, could I do it at home, and how would I do that? Or should I go to a professional? And what type of professional would I see? Would I go to a hair salon, a makeup place, or…?
I have REALLY pale eye lashes and I hate them. I just want to try something new out because on days when i’m not wearing makeup I look AWFUL because my eyelashes are pretty much invisible. lol thanks!

Yerr you can go to a nail salon and they can tint your eyelashes for you and it doesnt cost that much at all just around £10/£15.

I dont know how they do it but you should never try it at home.

I know this because where i get my acrylic nails done i was readin gup on what they do and they do eyebrow shaping, eyelash tinting, massages and allsorts so it really is worth getting it checked out if your unhappy with your eyelashes.

Question 8

Has anyone out there had their eyelashes dyed?

I was wondering if it is worth the time, money and if you were happy with your results.Where do you get it done? My eyelashes are so lame, they are light and hardly have any that it looks like I dont have any, mascara just looks clumpy, and false eyelashes seem so extreme. Anyone have any good advice on how to make my lashes look darker. Thanks!

I have had mine tinted lots of times and I liked the results. Mascara will darken your lashes but remember to take off at night with an eye makeup remover. Tinting stops all the messing around

Question 10

How much roughly does it cost to get your eyelashes dyed (UK)?

Can anyone give me a rough estimate.
and what sort of places do it beauticians, salons?
thanks.

£6 – £12 at a reasonably priced salon. Just make sure you have time to go for a patch test 24 hours before your actual appointment as any good salon won’t dye them without doing this first. If they don’t do this test, run a mile!
