Question 1 : Does anyone know any tips for growing eyelashes back? Weird question I know..?

i ran out of makeup remover and so i tried taking my mascara off by pulling it off, which made a few of my eyelashes fall out. It doesn’t look horrible, but it’s irritating because theres a tiny spot of no eyelashes.. Does anyone know how I can make them grow back fast? Should i not wear mascara or what? Thanks

-Avoid using mascara, especially waterproof.

-Do not pluck your lashes.

-Eat healthy, drink a lot of water, exercise daily, and get plenty of sleep.

-Wear fake eyelashes.

-Take a clean mascara wand and stick it in your vaseline and rub it on your eyelashes as you would with mascara. Be careful not to put too much because it can get in your eye and blur your vision.

I hope this helps. =]

Question 2 : Is there a certain number of times eyelashes grow back before they stop growing at all??

My neice has been plucking her eyelashes for years now. And we keep telling her to stop before she doesn’t have any anymore. Usually she only plucks a couple, but now she’s gone and plucked them all out! She’s freaking out because she’s scared that they’ll never grow back. We’ve looked on the internet but can’t find anything helpful. And her science teacher told her one day in class because he noticed her plucking at them that “Be careful, eyelashes only grow back 60 times in your lifetime before they stop” And I havent been able to find anything to prove him wrong. So now she’s terrified. I think she’s learned her lesson about them, but please, does anyone know anything that will soothe her fears? She’s honestly scared out of her wits.

here is a link to someone who had your question on another site: http://www.netwellness.org/question.cfm/13942.htm

The good news is that eyelashes do grow back. The bad news is that the fact that she pulls them out signifies a disorder called Trichotillomania (the compulsive desire to pull out hair including eyebrows and eyelashes). Many people “freak out” after they’ve plucked all their eyelashes, but that doesn’t necessarily stop them from doing it the next time they are stressed out. However, if do a search for it online, you’ll see that it is pretty common (especially in women) and there are a lot of different ways to help cure it.

good luck and don’t worry–your neice’s eyelashes will be back in no time! (That science teacher was a jerk!)

Question 3 : How can i speed up my eyelashes growing back o their normal length?

long story short one eyes lashes got trimmed. ive been waiting for the shortlashes to grow back to normal and i know they will but im impatient and dont want to wait so what is best for getting them to grow back to normal some one told me brush them twice a day and warm oil (i think olive).

Nails and lashes are the slowest, you could hard notice the difference.

Oil doesn’t help the growing process.

Question 4 : Will Eyelashes grow back if you have Trichomania?

Im not sure if I have Trichomania, but I do randomly “pick” at my eyelashes during school, while I read, and taking tests. And now on my left eye I have a small bald spot where about 6 eyelashes used to be, and its been a while and there doesn’t appear to be any sign of them growing back and I’m starting to worry. I’ve only picked my eyelashes for about 6 months.

What should I do? I’m uncomfortable about the false eyelashes. But are they going to grow back?

You mean trichotillomania?
This is classified as a compulsive and/or self-harm disorder, usually treated through behavior modification and very rarely drugs. I don’t reccomend the former; it just covers up the problem.
As somebody who has had this for a number of years, my only reccomendation is to wean yourself off. Catch yourself reaching for your lashes and stop. Also, try to identify the source of your stress. Tests are an obvious reason, and doing it during non-stressful activities is a sign of stress. Compulsive behaviors crop up when a person feels unsuccessful; these repetitive actions offer instant gratification and a sense of efficacy.
When hair is ripped out (as opposed to shed) the root comes with it, which is why trich. can often lead to permanent bald spots if left unchecked. It will take time for the hair to take root again, so be patient and dont tear.
Castor oil is very good for lashes. It works well to thicken them and to make them a little longer. In your case, it may help to grow them again. Simply dab a small amount onto your index finger and smooth it onto the skin where the lashes ought to be (for application onto existing lashes, apply mid-way up and smooth towards the top. Pick up any excess from the top; smooth over gentle once more. Castor oil is best applied at night and will not damage eyes. Nevertheless, it’s best not to get it in your eyes!)
Since this is a natural product, results aren’t instantaneous, so be patient.
Anyhow, the best ‘fix’ is not to tear out your lashes. Overcoming trich is possible, take it from someone who’s been there.

Question 6 : Will my eyelashes grow back after chemo?

I lost most of my eyelashes during chemo and I just finished my last cycle of chemo and want to know if my lashes will grow back and if they do will they possibly be thicker or longer?? How long does it take? Do any vitamins help the growing process? I ve heard fish oil pills help with hair growth or quality.

My girlfriend did lose her hair during carboplatin/taxol chemo. Her hair started to fall out 10 days after the first treatment, but her eyelashes and eyebrows fell out or thinned well into the regimen. I think it was by the fifth treatment. She had six rounds over 4 1/2 months. Her hair on her head actually started to grow back during the last two rounds, as her eyelashes and eyebrows fell out. The eyelashes regrew quickly, it was as if you could see the difference each day. They came back without any extra vitamins or pills. Very nice and full. Her eyebrows had only really thinned but they did take a few more weeks than the eyelashes. It was about 2 months after the last chemo that her eyelashes and eyebrows were back substantially.

Question 7 : How long does it take for eyelashes to start growing back?

I accidentally pulled a bunch out, and I’m going to put Vaseline on them every night before I go to bed, but I have a graduation in 9 days. Do you think they will have at least started to grow back by then?

·         Answerer 1

People say it takes the same amount of time as hair. Short-15-30 days Long-31+
For your graduation i dont think they will be back in time so try fake ones for the day of graduation

    Answer 2

I actually had the same issue once.
what i did was during the day, i put just a little eyeliner in the spot and from a distance of like, just 1 foot it looked completely normal.
I talked to my eye doctor and she said 6 weeks to be fully grown back, so i would guess in 9 days you would have some growth.
im not sure about the vaseline trick though… it might help, but it could just increase the bacteria and get you a little eye infection… i could be completely wrong though!

·         Answerer 3

If it’s very noticeable now, I’m not sure there’ll be enough regrowth in 9 days for it to look completely normal. However, a good lengthening and volumising mascara on this area (unless there’s literally nothing there!) should help. Also, you can buy individual false lashes (like strip falsies) – they’re usually available in packs of single lashes or bunches of 3 or 4 lashes – these would fill in the area to give a natural look, or for a more dramatic look you could of course just use strip lashes.

Question 8 : What are some natural home remedies for growing back eyelashes & fast? (10pts)?

well eyelashes grow back within four to eight weeks. there is not much you can do to speed up this process im afraid. There are some things you can do to maintain healthy long eautiful eyelashes when they do grow back…
>Take vitamins
>Limit the use of eye makeup
>dont curl your lashes
>use night treatment
>condition your lashes
Good Luck xx

Question 9 : Growing back eyelashes?

i had a ton of eyelashes yesterday, but overnight my eye became irritated and so i was rubbing my eye, and they all disappeared so i thought that they fell out because they were gone
i looked online and saw that people pull out their eyelashes or any hair on their face, but i don’t do that because this is my first time with any hair such as eyelashes or eyebrows disappearing…
so i was wondering, is there any type of oils, cream, ANYTHING to help make my eyelashes grow back faster?
well, except makeup… because i don’t have any, and my mom strongly disagrees with makeup or something like that… its weird…

rub vasline on your eyelashes. dont stress about, i would see a doctor if i were you though. dont touch your eyes too much as well. there are creams, but you need these from your doctor. petroleum, which is vaseline helps me though! good luck x

Question 10 : Can eyelashes grow back if they have been cut?

I accidentally clipped my eyelashes with electric clippers, and I am hoping they will grow back.

Additional Details

just wanna say the clippers were those little mini groomers you use on your eyebrows….

yes, but they grow back slow. Actually i cut part of my eyelashes off with my eyebrow shaver. I was so embarrassed. I used lengthening mascara just on that part, and it helped to make it look like the rest of my lashes
