Curl eyelash extensions? my natural ones point downwards?

Question

do this, please find out WHERE their glue comes from. If it’s
from Korea, you don’t want it because of impurities in the glue.
Valli Herman of the LA Times had the extensions done and 2 days later wound
up in the ER with them being removed because her eyes were swollen and she
lost most of her natural lashes along with the removal. NOT a pretty sight
or experience. I personally spoke to Valli about this on the phone back in
January about it.. she was opting against lash extensions and going with
faux lashes that are removable at night

There are a few kinds  that are ok. Here’s a piece of an article written by
a friend of mine,
Marie Bargas from Beautynewsla.com.. Jan issue. (Marie no longer writes for
them)

As of today, the FDA still has no regulations pertaining to eyelash
extension glue, so it’s best to be very careful about choosing an eyelash
extension product, especially if you are prone to allergies. According to
Nova Lash Owner/Founder – Sophy Merszei, a Molecular Biologist and Cosmetic
Chemist, the chief irritant found in many imported eyelash extension glues
is formaldehyde. In fact Nova Lash is the only lash extension
manufacturer/distributor in the United States that does not use formaldehyde
in its glue so far. Nova Lash also carries a glue formula for “sensitive
eyes” which the others do not. Some competitors import their glue from Korea
where formaldehyde is used in cheaper glues for it’s ant-bacterial,
anti-fungal and bonding properties. While, OSHA has already determined that
formaldehyde is genotoxic, showing properties of both a cancer initiator and
promoter, the American Association of Poison Control cautions that toxicity
is based upon the concentration of the toxin at the site of contact, and
possibly another solvent in the formula may be causing the problem either
partially or completely. Until more research is done, consumers need take
into account their own allergies and skin sensitivities before suffering the
painful consequences.

Answer

I know 2 people who had it done before. one paid $200 (not including
touch-up) i don’t know how much touch up costs. she developed a reaction to
the glue that she had to have them removed in a week.

the other said it looked quite nice for a week. but after a week, unless she
had them touch-up, some started falling off & she ended up having with
uneven “bald” spots, which looked really bad, actually worse than her own
(short) lashes.

bye now,

Question 1

Curl eyelash extensions? my natural ones point downwards?

i just got eyelash extensions and i love them… but my natural eyelashes point downwards….. now i have two rows of eyelashes… and it looks weird…can i use an eyelash curler? it looks kinda weird….. is there a way to fix this without wrecking my extensions?

Answer 1 I wouldn’t touch the extensions because you might ruin them if you try curling them. It would ruin the shape, and you don’t want that. I would curl your real ones so they are the same shape as your extensions. I haven’t had extended eye lashes so I wouldn’t know, but thats just my guess.

Question 2

I want to put on ardell individual eyelash extensions. will they ruin/damage my natural eyelashes?

i’ve heard that getting them done at a salon is safe but will eventually cause my own lashes to fall out and get shorter.. REALLY damage them. has anyone used ardell before on their own for a couple months? what has your experience been like?

Well first of all, you`re not supposed to constantly keep them in for months at a time. I`m not sure if that`s what you were talking about, but you have to remove them at the end of the day.

It didn`t damage my lashes, but it was almost impossible to get them to come off. I could honestly say I would never do it again. I was literally pullling as hard as I could to get them to come off using baby oil like the directions said and I was scared I was going to pull all my lashes out.

Thank goodness nothing bad happened. I personally don`t recommend them. Too much hassle, takes forever to put on, slides all over the place. It took me a good hour to put them on and you won`t have time to deal with that every day.

My suggestion to you is to try Rapid Lash which will grow lashes. You can buy this at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Ulta. Hope I helped. Also get a really good lengthening mascaras like Maybelline XXL Extensions. Good luck.

Question 3

Do eyelash extensions damage your natural eyelashes?

I have had eyelash extensions for the first time, they have all come out now and I have noticed that my own lashes are actually shorter than they used to be. is this possible? My beautician assures me that it is just because i was used to the extensions and my own lashes will not be shorter. But i am pretty certain that they are shorter as i always had very long lashes anyway. is this possible??

A friend who is a cosmetologist recommended taking Vitamin B supplements and rubbing Vitamin E oil at the base of your eyelashes and eyelids. I did find an interesting holistic site that had some other recommendations. Good luck!!

  Answerer 3

I dont think it makes your eyelashes fall out but if you get glued ones it tends to make your eyes feel weird. I got eyelash extentions a couple of months ago and they fell out after 20 mins, for the money they deffinatly aren t worth it! in my personal experience

Question 7

I’ve heard of eyelash extensions which stay on during showers swimmng etc. Anyone know about this?

I once read in a magazine (I’ve forgotten which one) that eyelash extensions are done. An extension is glued using surgical glue to the natural eyelash. The article said the lash stays on the life of the natural lash. I believe the procedure was being done in Central America. I have very short lashes and would be interested in having this done if it were available in the U.S.. Has anyone had this done?

Yes, this procedure is being done in california, although it is quite expensive.

Question 8

Do eyelash extensions ruin your natural lashes?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters

Eyelash extensions will not ruin your natural lashes if they are done by a licensed professional who is very experienced. Beware of technicians who apply clusters of lashes or who apply single lashes to more than one of your lashes. That is a sure way to get damage.

Question 9

Have you ever heard of eyelash extensions?

I just had them done Saturday for a Cruise that I am going on and I was surprised by the number of people that didn’t know they exsisted.

It is really cool because you don’t have to wear mascara for like 2-3 months and you have these amazing long natural looking eyelashes.

For other people who don’t know…

Like hair extensions, eyelash extensions are a cosmetic process whereby synthetic single fiber polyester thread like materials are applied to create a fuller, longer look.[citation needed] Once a product accessible only to a limited consumer, eyelash extensions have become more popular and affordable. In Asia, The United States and Australia the process has become so popular that salons are booked as much as six weeks in advance. Aiming for an authentic, natural feel, they come in various lengths, colors and thicknesses, and can be worn during sleep,

I have heard of them. I know that Paris Hilton made them known and popular. I considered getting them for prom last year but, I heard they were pretty pricey. Don’t they run from $300-400? I didn’t want to go into debt getting my eyelashes done. This year, I’ll probably get them done. How much did you pay?

Question 10

Are eyelash extensions a good idea?

I am a natural blonde and my eyelashes are somewhat transparent as the tips are blonde and therefore look a lot shorter than what they really are. Plus, I do not have too many as it is. What are the things I should watch out for? Could the extensions irritate my eyes or could my real eyelashes actually fall out after the procedure? Basically, are they worth it?

Ive gotten eyelash extensions before. they looked AMAZING but once they fell out.. they took out my natural eyelashs aswell.. Looked really bad because I had clumps of them missing

Answer

Get an eyelash perm and tint! I get them done on the regular and they make my eyelashes look really long
