Question 3
I need advice on Prima Diva professional eyelash extensions!?
I had eyelash extensions put on at a spa. The girl was trained about 6 mos. ago and does many sets a day. They were only $175.! I couldn’t resist. I know you shouldn’t go for CHEAP when getting extensions, but had they not been so cheap, they wouldn’t even be an option for me. I have to have them filled every 2 weeks. The worst thing is they’re so messy! They’re not pretty and straight like in pictures. She said the reason for that is because natural lashes aren’t straight, they go in different directions and so will your extension. They’re nice for a few days, but then they go this way and that, some curl to the side, the end ones actually curl downward! The brand is Prima Diva. Her glue isn’t old, she says she uses up a bottle in 2 weeks. I just can’t afford to go to a more expensive, experienced place! I want to keep doing them, but they look horrible after a few days. She puts primer on after. I have some too, but it doesn’t straighten or turn them. Is she doing something wrong?!!
Answer
Prima Diva are the best eyelash extensions I’ve ever used. And the adhesive is really good, too. Wonder if your girl is using the right length for your eyes. I know Prima Diva has several different sizes so maybe trying a different one may work for you. The company was very helpful when I had a question once. The website is lebelleonline.com. Maybe something there will help or maybe you can speak with someone who can tell you what’s going on with your lashes. Good luck!
Question 4
Where would put on fake eyeleashed for you?
For my costume for Halloween I would like fake lashes put on but not the glittery fake thick ones you can get with your costume. I was going to buy some from a salon with the eyelash glue and have a professional do it or buy them from the place I would go to. I want them to be long and full but not, in your face, fake. Any ideas what place does this??? If it helps I live in Denver Colorado!
Answer
Buy them at wal mart. size them first on your eye lid without make up, they should be shorter than your lid across, trim to fit. Apply black eyeliner to your upper lid, this will hide where the fake lash ends and the real ones begin. Then hold a bead of glue out of the tube and drag the lashes across it, only a thin line is nessasary. Have a pair of tweezers ready, as you’ll need to possion the lashes as close to your real lashes as possible. The glue dries clear. Takes about 30 seconds to get tacky and 1 min to fully dry. Practice makes perfect.
Question 5
Best eye lash glue that last up to 2 weeks?
I’ve been getting professional eyelashes done but 20 each time is too much now. Anyone know a good one and where I can purchase. Thanks!
Answer
they usually use black weave glue lol but duo eyelash glue is good
Question 6
Help!!!!…Eyelash EXTENSIONS???
Hello,
Will eyelash extensions last at least a month? I already have long lashes but need them to be extra long for about 3 weeks.
I’m talking about the ones that you get applied by a professional. The ones that they glue to your own lashes.
It’s said that it’ll last a month but asking if anyone has had them done to know how long it has lasted for them.
For $200 hopefully it’ll last 3 weeks.
My natural lashes are pretty thick and don’t shed that much, well the ones that I notice at least.
Answer
Some of them do. I got them done and pretty much everytim I washed my face I lost some. They may last longer if you dont put on mascara
Question 7
I recently got eyelash extensions, I woke up with swollen eyes?! ?
I went to Cesar’s Day Spa for the day, decided I wanted eyelash extensions for my birthday. I naturally have long full lashes and wanted a little something extra for my special day and would keep them on for a few days. She charged $80 dollars for the few I wanted, I was fine afterwards.
She said it was professional lashes from Korea, she said she was using a mild glue that could be used to keep the lashes in for a week, since I said I didn’t want to keep them in long.
Another strange thing….is it normal to use plastic-wrap under my eye with Vaseline to protect my lower-lid? I thought that was odd.
Since I don’t wear mascara or put on fake lashes, she said my eyes would take time to get adjusted to the lashes and I would be fine, also the itching would go too. Later my eyes began to itch and I put a cool cloth on my eyes to soothe it, then went to bed early. I woke up this morning and my eyes are SWOLLEN?! The left one is more bumpy. I called and I will have it removed? Are they going to make me pay, what’s wrong with my eyes? will I loose lashes?
Answer
Answerer 1
I don’t care where you went or how much it cost, if you use the wrong kind of glue or your hands are not clean, bacteria can enter your eye. You have to be careful. you probably will lose some real lashes, in the process of taking those out, and just hope that there isn’t any bacterial infection. My friend had some put in a few months ago for a wedding, the girl charged her $80 same as you, but about an hour into the ceremony, her eyes started itching. So, she went to the bathroom and started picking and pulling at these lashes and they started falling off along with her real lashes and some flaky crap. She finally got them off, washed her face reapplied her make up and got back to the wedding; the next morning she couldn’t even open her eyes. She looked like a puffer fish! Anyway, what I was trying to tell you is that even it looks nice to have longer lashes, if they are not really cautious about how and what they do, you eyes can and will become infected.
Answerer 2
Probably you had an allergic reaction to the glue. It’s not uncommon, and it was wise for you to have them take them off. As for the money, I think it would be an idea to try to get reimbursed because $80 for something that gave you problems should be refunded (I’d check their policy or guarantee)
Answerer 3
that is what you get for being greedy. you already said that you have long lashes to begin with….why would you want to do that to yourself if there really is no need? you are probably allergic to the glue that they used to make the lashes stay put. Let this be a lesson to you.
Answerer 4
you should not worry about losing your lashes, but losing your sight.
Answerer 5
Doubt if you’ll lose your natural lashes. Just seems as thought you are allergic to something they used. It’s only fair for them not to charge you for removing them. I’d ask for my money back (Not sure they’ll give you the refund but it’s worth a try).LOL!
Answerer 6
Definite allergic reaction. The glue most likely contains latex which you could be having a reaction too.
Answerer 7
Are you the same person who asked this question awhile back? Get them removed as they are irritating your eyes. And you won’t get your money back. What the hell are professional lashes from Korea? Monkey fur?
Geeze………
Answerer 8
It seems very much like you have a allergy to the glue, depend on very different brand false lashes, they come with different glue.in your case quite much like the experience i had probably you are allergic to the glue which use to attached false lashes to your own.
it’s easy to find out,use the same glue she used for you lashes extension, apply on you arm (the side close to your body) about 1center meter square, within 24 hours if you develop any sign of allergy, you can discuss/sue them to get your money back.(the point is you must use the same tube of glue she used on you)
good luck
Answerer 9
dont wear them if it swollens ur eyes i really dont know the problem, but take them off now before it gets worser or u might be allergic or something
Answerer 10
It sounds like an allergy to the glue. If you have any sort of latex allergy, false lashes are out for you.
As to the plastic wrap, kind of weird. I usually use a paper protector and other people use a gel protector that hold the lashes down. Plastic wrap and Vaseline is kind of cheap.
I don’t know if they will make you pay.
If it’s permanent lash glue you probably will lose some lashes.
Answerer 11
Your probably allergic to the glue.
Answerer 12
ur probably allergic to the things…
Answerer 13
Why would you do that in the first place??? If you have to have them taken off…OUCH
Answerer 14
sounds like an infection or allergic reaction of some sort… Yikes they do that stuff?
Answerer 15
allergic reaction to the chemicals in the glue. they wont make you pay to take them out. however, they do not hav2 give ur money back because of ur reaction. taking them out will be uncomfortable, they will be using another chemical. it would be easier 4 u 2 take an allergy medicine & put oil on ur eyelashes, pull them out slowly, be patient, u will loose sum.
Question 7
Help! Eyebrown wax on eyelashes!?
So I was self-waxing my eyebrows and a drop of the wax landed on my eyelashes. It glued my eye shut but I managed to finally get it open. However my eyelashes are all still stuck to each other. Is there any way to get the wax off of my eye lashes? I’ve tried cold water, scraping it, baby oil, and water proof eye make up remover. It doesn’t look terrible – more like really really clumped mascara but its pretty uncomfortable. And yes I am a dumb@ss and I will be getting it done by a professional from now on
Any help is appreciated.
Answer
just keep rubbing it between your fingers but be careful not to pull them out. They make creams that remove wax but they really don’t work that well. You just need to make it lose the stickiness then make it kinda crumble out. Or take a hot cloth and keep rubbing at it. Either way, its going to be a while….
Question 8
Calling all gurlies: eye lashes?
do you think its worth paying £35 for eyelashes to be put on they look natural but are still show stopping, they need to be replaced every 3 weeks and cost £35 for someone trained but not professional or £95 for a professional.
but the ones you glue on yourself i cant seem to do no matter how hard i try ![]()
should i get th £35 the £95 or try to DIY?
Answer
there both pricey! um the professional but maybe you should look into more salons as they could be cheaper and the eyelashes they use could last longer saving you money.
or if all else fails just get a heated eyelash curler (shu umera or something if you want expensive) and just use a mascara like dior or even great lash by maybelline. sorry i could help much good luck!
Question 9
To all ladies looking for new mascara, here’s my reviews!?
I have tried pretty much every drugstore mascara out there so i have decided to write a review on all of the ones i have tried hopefully this will help all of you looking for a new mascara…Here it goes:
MAYBELLINE:
FULL N’ SOFT- Good mascara if your looking for a natural look. It gives a little more length and a good amount of volume, although the volume isn’t that great. It does make you lashes feel soft like it says it will. My rating: 7/10
GREAT LASH- Horrible mascara. Its only $4 and you get what you pay. Brush is weird and provides no lengthening no volume and definitely no definition. Rating: 3/10
XXL VOLUME INTENSE- This mascara is good for those looking for fake looking eye lashes. The length it gives is unbelievable! it give a little volume but nothing compared to the length. Rating: 9/10
LASH DISCOVERY- This is ok. Doesn’t give much length or volume. The brush is small and cute but did nothing for my lashes. Rating: 5/10
LASH STILETTO- Best lengthening mascara without the need of a white primer. This mascara gives you the length it says it does except it does not give you that shine it says it will in the commercials. Rating: 9/10
LASH STYLIST- The brush it awkward to use (it looks like a little comb). Gives good length and volume but it does clump your lashes together like you wouldn’t believe, it almost resembles glue. It looks really bad, almost makes you look like you have Barbie doll eyelashes. Rating: 6/10
SKY HIGH CURVES- This is mascara is Ok. Does not give much volume or length or curl. Definitely not the 30 degree curl it promises. I think this mascara would be good for girls who have light eye lashes who want to make them black. Rating: 6/10
COLOSSAL- Known to be very stinky. It does have an odor to it but you can’t smell anything once its on your eyelashes. The brush is big which has its pros and cons. This mascara does work well but didn’t give me 9x the volume it promised. Rating: 7/10
EXPRESS TURBO BOOST- Very good mascara for volume. Lengthens as well, but the volume is very nice. The formula does dry somewhat fast so you have to hurry in between coats. The only problem I had was the formula got clumpy fast. But it’s a good mascara. Rating 8/10
COVERGIRL:
LASH BLAST- Good mascara for volume. It does what it says it will. The only drawback is the flaking I noticed after a couple hours of wearing the product. The brush is very big but I had no problems getting the small little lashes in the inner corners of my eyes (I know this is a big issue girls have been noticing).
LASH EXACT- Gives you good definition, ok for length and so-so for volume. You do have to apply many generous coats to get the volume you may want. But if your looking for a natural look, this is a good mascara. Rating: 7.5/10
PROFESSIONAL SUPER THICK LASH- Great mascara for the price. I paid only $5 and this is GREAT! This is my new favorite mascara. This product gave me no clumps, great volume and great length. The very black formula gave me amazingly dramatic looking lashes!! Lashes don’t feel brittle either! Amazing product. My rating: 10/10
PROFESSIONAL NATURAL MASCARA- This is ok as a mascara, all it does is give it definition, but it’s good as a brow gel. Rating: 7/10
FANTASTIC LASH- I heard a lot of good reviews on this one but when I bought mine…oh I’d say 5 or 6 years ago, I must have gotten a bad batch. It clumped horribly and did nothing. It did not give me the “fan of lashes” look it promises. Rating: 6/10
LOREAL:
VOLUMNOUS- I really don’t know what all the hype is about. This mascara gave me similar results to the Maybelline sky high curves. It did not give me much volume or length; in fact it looked very cheap. Rating: 7/10
TELESCOPIC- Not a good one either. The brush is very awkward to use and the product itself provides no length or volume. The only thing this was good for was giving defition. Rating- 6/10
FEATHER LASH- Gave me same results as the voluminous. This mascara did however last me quite a while (I don’t throw my mascaras away after 3 months. I toss them when they get dried out or clumpy). Rating: 7/10
DOUBLE EXTEND WITH BEAUTY TUBES- This product gets a lot of good reviews but I have nothing good to say about this product. It is very pricy and does not work as well as other mascaras of its kind. For the price…not worth it! Rating 6/10.
REVLON:
LUXURIOUS LENGTHS- Probably one of the worst mascaras I have ever tried. Like the Maybelline great lash, this doesn’t give you anything it says it will. The brush is very unusual. Rating: 4/10
J.A.N.E
HIGH FIBER MASCARA- This is good if your young and starting to wear makeup. Its very cheap, only $3.50 a tube. Works okay, but the smell is quite overwhelming. Rating: 6.5/10.
Hoep this helps everyone who is looking for a new mascara!!
Additional Details
RIMMEL (sorry i forgot):
BIG SUPER LASH- this mascara isnt very good. The price is good but…you do get what you pay for. It does however give you a subtle length. I guess its good for that “I’m-not-waering-any-mascara” look. Rating 6/10
VOLUME FLASH MOUSSE- The mousse formula did nothing for me, in fact you can’t even tell its a mousse by looking at it. The formula was clumpy and provided little length. Rating: 6/10
I’m not a fan of rimmel mascaras!
Answer
This is great!
I think mascara is one product that can be considered as hit or miss, just depends on the person.
Like if one works for you,it will not work for another.
Why not blog?
i think its a lot better if you can do a blog site because you will be able to share your opinion with fellow bloggers, you can also answer Questions here then just link it in your blog.
You get to keep it sorta like a journal if you want to.
Question 10
I need your opinon…?
my hair is unbelievably thin, but it’s not really that short… it goes a couple inches down my shoulders. it’s fried and has alot of split ends.
therefore, i want extensions. i plan to dye my hair black, like it was previously, and get long black extensions. i’ve had it before, a year ago, but my looks changed. they were clip-in’s, and they were a pain to put in.
i want real hair, or atleast hair that looks & FEELS real. everybody tells me that glue-in’s are a b****. i need your opinon, method, and a price ?? and where i can get them? and possibly the cheapest method.
alsoo, with fake eyelashes; i dont’ want to buy a pair for 7$ at walgreens because i heard they fall off. i want them professional. does anybody know how long they last & cost?
and one last thing… my shoulders/body is VERY dark, but my face is pale. it’s because i wear facial makeup but my face is horrible/red without it. how much is a fake tan or should i just go to the pool everyday without makeup?
thankss.
Answer
Well, I cant answer all of your questions but I can say that extensions range from price to price depending on how many inches they are. also, your hair seems damaged a lot all ready so my advice is to not dye it and just leave it at its natural color and get your natural color of extensions. Dying hair is harsh on your hair and your hair seems really damaged already.
